Know Your Brain

See why your prefrontal cortex is key to optimum performances!

This area of the brain is considered our most human, highly developed brain region, and regulates and interacts powerfully with other regions. Its strength is often exerted through positive inhibition, like the gears of a car of brake pedal or the tail of a kite, the centerboard of a boat.

The strength and flexibility of a person's prefrontal cortical ability to achieve dominances (regulatory strength) over the brain enables such functions as: strong but flexible focus, foresight, self-control, inhibiting migraine symptoms, and regulating emotional reactions (reducing reactivity to benign stimuli)
Medications can have impact-- positive or negative, sustained or temporary--on the prefrontal cortex. Psychotherapy and mindfulness appear to strengthen the functions to some degree.

In my experience, Neurofeedback, especially pirHEG neurofeedback, has been one of the most efficient and effective tools I have. It is a tool used to exercise and strengthen(train) the ability of the mind to enjoy an improved ability to experience an alert relaxed mind, and a reliable and enduring sense of being more "in charge of one's self "---even under stress, and even without having to consciously think about it. You can read more about the pirHEG neurofeedback as well as EEG guided Neurofeedback on the other tabs of this website.
